FCRA Notice

Why this is not a background-check service, and the decisions you may never use it for.

Last updated July 1, 2026

Important notice

PeopleQuickSearch is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Information from PeopleQuickSearch may not be used for employment, tenant, credit, insurance, or other FCRA-covered decisions.

What this means

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) regulates “consumer reporting agencies” and the use of “consumer reports” for certain eligibility decisions. PeopleQuickSearch is not a consumer reporting agency, and the information we provide is not a consumer report. We do not collect or provide information for the purpose of determining eligibility for the decisions the FCRA covers.

Uses that are never permitted

You may not use PeopleQuickSearch, or any information from it, in whole or in part, as a factor in:

  • Employment decisions, including hiring, promotion, reassignment, or retention;
  • Tenant or housing screening;
  • Credit or loan eligibility;
  • Insurance underwriting;
  • Any other purpose covered by the FCRA or a comparable state law.

Permitted uses

PeopleQuickSearch is intended for personal reconnection and identity verification — finding relatives and old friends, confirming a new personal contact is who they claim to be, and similar non-screening purposes. If your intended use is screening-adjacent, we will decline the search.

If you believe you have been the subject of an adverse action based on a consumer report, you have rights under the FCRA that a consumer reporting agency must honor — but note again that PeopleQuickSearch is not such an agency. Consult counsel for the exact scope of your rights.
