Grain contracts through Cybentis Oy, registered in Finland. It is registered inside the EEA, so sending personal data to it is not a transfer out of the EEA. Its trust center is published at https://www.grainql.com/security. Its customer data processing agreement, also called a data processing addendum, is published by Grain itself; the link is below. We open those pages every day — last on 19 October 2026 — and a person last went through this record on 10 October 2026.
Reaching Grain is not a transfer out of the EEA: it is registered in Finland. This is what the record holds for where it sends personal data on, and it is not something we have checked — its sub-processor list is the place to look.

Changes we noticed on Grain's own pages, each with the page we saw it on. The vendor does not publish this, and neither does anyone else.

Grain updated its data processing agreement to reference the EU-US Data Privacy Framework as a legal mechanism for transfers and changed specific technical and operational details including encryption standards, backup locations, and AI data handling procedures. The company also rebranded from "Grain" to "GrainQL" throughout the document and clarified that AI conversations are stored in Supabase in Frankfurt, Germany rather than just generally in Supabase.
